Virasat at FICCI Skills Summit 2019 – VIRASAT, the Heritage, organised by FICCI, was a session on showcasing creative North East, rural entrepreneurship and cluster based skill development.

The #MSME sector employs over 111 million people and contributes nearly 31 % of India’s GDP. A Key economic activities like increased government spending, facilitating policies, shift in consumer behavior, improved access to global market etc., have also played a significant role in a shift in focus towards various clusters in India.

The cluster concept suggests a change in the units of analysis from isolated firms to a network of firms, which have an advantage of effective local knowledge up gradation, locally designed skill development activities, empowerment of local community, promoting rural innovation etc.

‘Virasat” The Heritage’: A first of its kind initiative by an Industry Chamber that gives a platform to the small and medium enterprises working at traditional cluster level to showcase their talents and to share with the world, their amazing journey.

The broad objective of the program is to provide a platform to different traditional clusters from various states to share best practices and explore synergies.
